Together, Chris Riser and Jay Adkisson are the authors of the widely-selling "Asset Protection: Concepts & Strategies" (McGraw-Hill, 2004), which has since been translated into Chinese for the sale in Asia. Together and individually, they have published hundreds of articles in the various fields in which they practice, and are much sought-after speakers to a variety of professional groups.
Christopher M. Riser is admitted in Georgia and North Carolina. Chris has a Master of Laws (LLM) in Estate Planning, and is admitted as a Solcitor (non-practicing) in the United Kingdom. Chris is the former Chair of the American Bar Association's Committee on Asset Protection Planning. Chris is an expert adviser to WealthCounsel, which is a large organization of estate planning attorneys nationwide.
Jay D. Adkisson is admitted in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. Jay has twice served as an expert witness to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, and served as an American Bar Association Adviser to the Drafting Committees of the Uniform Voidable Transactions Act (2014) and the proposed Uniform Limited Liability Company Protected Series Act. Jay is a former Chair of the American Bar Association's Committee on Captive Insurance.
The firm is regularly involved in business structuring and planning, including the use of foreign structures and complex entities. Chris Riser is admitted as a solicitor (non-practicing) in the United Kingdom, and Jay Adkisson presently serves an an ABA Adviser to the proposed Uniform LLC Protected Series Act.
